Respect, Growth, Strength & Pride

Our Club

In the 70th year of the South Morang Football Netball club.

The Club exists with 500 plus members and a strong life member/past player base, we pride ourselves as an inclusive family club.

Our Club has 18 Junior Football teams, 5 Senior Netball teams with 4 Senior Football teams, one being our Senior Women’s team, with our club expanding we will enter 6 Junior Netball teams in the NFNL summer competition for 2024/25.

This season our Senior Men’s team moved into 1st division in the Northern Football Netball League for the first time in clubs’ history wining the 2nd Division Grand Final, our Reserves also won their Grand Final.

Our Senior Netballers have grown to 55 players, with the club’s number 1 Netball team playing off in the grand final.

The Clubs’ Senior Women’s Football team also played off in finals.
This was a great achievement as our ladies were bottom age, straight from under 18’s.

Our Junior teams have shown success in the past years and continued with 7 teams making finals, and 4 bringing the Flag home.

Our Club Song

The music and roots of the song are the French National Anthem – “La Marseillaise”

It originated in this form as the Fitzroy Football Club song, and has been “updated” to become the Brisbane Football Club song.

But our lyrics are almost exactly as they were for Fitzroy.

We are the Girls / Boys from South Morang,
We wear the colours Maroon & Blue,
We will always fight for victory,
We will always see it through.

Win or lose, do or die,
In defeat, we always try,
Morang, Morang,
The club we hold so dear,
Premiers, we’ll be this year!
